How Freight Rates Work

Biomass pellet transport costs in India are primarily driven by distance and vehicle capacity. Rates are typically quoted per ton-km or per trip. Larger vehicles (trailers, multi-axle) offer significantly lower per-ton costs for distances above 300 km.

These are indicative rates. Actual costs vary based on route, diesel prices, toll charges, loading/unloading conditions, and seasonal demand. For distances over 1,000 km, rail transport may be more economical for large volumes.
